Sunset…I saw God today

Standard

I just want to take a moment…a moment to reflect on the past few weeks and months of my life.  I am so blessed and so very thankful that I have such a wonderful family.  I absolutely adore my extended family & my family. It is amazing that I have such wonderful people in my life, friends included!  I have been given the best blessing of all which is to have a wonderful & healthy husband and daughter who I can now call MY family.  I can remember wanting this since I was a little girl.  I can say without a doubt that God’s Word says, “ask and you shall receive, knock and the door will open.”  I have received what I have asked and prayed for AND more.  It is amazing to me what God will and can do if we walk with HIM daily! I encourage you all to take a moment to thank Him for what He is doing in your life!

Our week thus far…showercaps & swimming pools!

Standard

This week I took Millie over to my parents neighborhood pool where she finally got her feet wet!  It was a overcast day which was perfect for her fair baby soft skin….which may I add I was extremely paranoid the entire time about her burning.  She got a little bit of sun, but not too much.  She loved sitting in my lap in the kiddie pool with her little toes in the water. 🙂  At times it got a little crazy with the older kids swimming around, but we managed!!  I almost cried as I was dipping her into the water without Stephen being there to see it!  I have lots of pictures though so hopefully that will make up for it!  There are some other random pictures from this week also that I will show you.  Take a peek-a-boo!

First time going into the baby pool…

See her little bitty toes!

This was taken as we were undressing….she kinda looks like me with a shower cap!

Memorial Day/Stephen’s Birthday/Taylor & John’s Anniversary in Boone, North Carolina…

Standard

This weekend was filled with all kinds of celebrations!!!  We celebrated Stephen’s birthday with all of his family!!  We cooked out on the grill and enjoyed all being under one roof.  We had 2 babies, 1 child, 1 teenager, 3 dogs & 10 adults.  It was quite the weekend if I say so myself.  Millie was wonderful the entire time.  She slept each night with no problems and would let us each at most meals! She was so glad to get to finally hang out with her cousin JC.  He was very interested in her this trip.  Lots of kisses he gave her.  Taylor and John also were celebrating their anniversary this weekend.  Between Steve, Nancy, me & Stephen we all watched the boys while they had a night out on the town!  It was a handful to hold little Benton as he is quite the “wiggle worm” these days!  Nancy cooked dinner and Steve cooked breakfast each morning which was wonderful!  It was like a mini vacation with the whole family. Plus the food is ALWAYS wonderful.  Here are some photos from our crazy weekend in the mountains.

Millie goes to the beach…

This weekend we had the pleasure of tagging along with Stephen to Jekyll Island.  Millie got to see Nanna & Pop there too!  While the boys were working, us girls got to hang out and relax together.  Besides the bugs being pretty bad we had a great time.  I got some really cute pictures of Millie in her American Flag Bathing suit!!!  SO CUTE!  She did really good on the ride there and back.  She slept the entire time both ways.  She was pretty fussy when we arrived both times.  I am thinking the bottles gave her an upset stomach.  😦  All in all it was just the vacation we needed.  We made it to part of a Low Country Boil Friday night and a Barbeque on Saturday!  Millie got to meet all of daddy’s work buddies at the cookouts which was fun.  I didn’t get any pictures with all 3 of us.  Kinda sad but Stephen was working a lot of the time.  Here are the one’s I thought were cute of Millie!

She was having a good dream down at the pool!

Super Star!!

These are just a few pictures I took of Millie today.  This dress is precious.  Taylor bought this for her and it’s my FAVORITE dress so far.  She has a tone of cute clothes to wear before she out grows them! She is like having a beautiful little doll to play dress up with each morning.  She just started cooing and grinning a bit too!!  This weekend we are going to Jekkle Island and St. Simons.  Hopefully the 6 hours in the car won’t be too terribly bad!!  We will see.  Seeya when we get back.  🙂

Dear Millie, there are so many things that I want to teach you.  You are so loved by me and your daddy.  We are lucky to be given the gift of parenthood.  We will always be here for you no matter what!!  Thank you Jesus for giving me the precious gift of a daughter.  I promise to always teach her Your Ways oh Lord!!

Mothers Day Weekend…

Standard

This weekend was a busy one.  Friday we had a few neighbors over and Stephen smoked a Boston Butt!  It turned out perfect!  I think we are going to eventually open a family barbeque business…(called NUBBS!) jk* I think this would be Stephen’s dream job (to cook, grill and smoke meat all day!)  Something about hanging out with the guys cooking and drinking a few beers is his favorite home activity these days!  🙂  I love it because we get to stay close to home and save money from going out!!!!

Saturday we headed up towards Gainesville to visit Taylor, John, JC, Benton & the Berg Family.  It was to my surprise to see little JC open the door with a shaved head!!  I almost didn’t recognize him at first.  We had steak fahjitas, chips and rice!  To top it all off we had homemade strawberry ice cream.  YUM!  The best I’ve ever had may I add!  Benton is growing up TOO fast as well.  He has the most BEAUTIFUL blue eyes too!

On a side note**Taylor, I have got to start getting more pictures of me and you!!!  (I will need them for the calendars at Christmas)

Sunday (Mothers Day)  We laid low around the house until about 12ish.  Stephen brought me breakfast in bed along with cards from him and Millie and a gift!!! 🙂  Then we got up and went to check out more Mini Vans. 😦  After that Millie was fast asleep so we went ahead and stopped into our favorite Mexican Place and ate lunch.  We then came home and relaxed some more.  What a wonderful day….MY VERY 1ST Mothers Day.  I am so blessed with such a wonderful husband, who may I add made today VERY special!!!  AND to have such a healthy and beautiful baby girl!  Thank you JESUS!
