MiLLie’s BaBY ShOWer…..

Standard

Today was very special because I was able to spend time with all of my close friends and family.  The Lord has truly blessed me with lots and lots of wonderful women in my life.  It is a great thing to have such strong Christian women to model my life after!  (Being raised mainly with 3 guys as father figures I definitely find it interesting to see how other women do things)….Today there were soooooo many wonderful goodies.  Not only did all of my closest family and friends come, but I also got to share all the loot with them!  A car seat, bouncy seat, itty bitty ballerina socks, diapers, bibs, burp cloths, bottles, decor baskets, gift-cards, booties, bloomers, embroidered receiving blankets, a handmade burp cloth and bib, bunny rabbits, baby hangers, Peter Rabbit book, crib sheets, knitted hat, booties & a “fabulous” handmade knitted yellow blankee!  I am sure there are some things that I left off the list….but to make a long list short would be an understatement.  Oh and not to mention the fact that so many of those wonderful women I talked about above helped out with flowers, gifts, planning & organizing, invites, getting food prepared, decorations & volunteering their homes…I know I’ve said it before but I will say it again and again, I am so thankful for everyone’s support & generosity.  It doesn’t go unseen!  We love you all and hope you all will keep our family in your prayers & hearts.     Cindy Sobel-My Doula/Birthing Coach Cindy my Doula/Birthing Coach   Aunt Ginny & Mehgan (soon to be sister-n-law)       ginny.jpg      Aunt Gwynne & Nancy (Millie’s Grandma)

Millie’s Papa helping out with the nursery

Standard

papa2.jpgThis Sunday was exciting because we finally got some things hung on the walls in the nursery.  I hope to have some pictures up pretty soon.  Actually, we didn’t hang anything.  It was my dad (PAPA) who did all the work!  He is a perfectionist when it comes to hanging things on the wall.  He brought his famous level over to make sure the job was done well.  This job was a little challenging for him due to the stud in the wall but he figured it out.  Thanks Gwynne & Bruce for the peg-shelf, Nancy for the pink angel sign & dad for coming over to hang them!  We appreciate everyone’s willingness to help us decorate our little nursery!papa-1.jpg

Happy Valentine’s Day

Standard

Happy Valentine’s Day to you all.  This morning Stephen and I woke up and exchanged cards and small gifts.  As he was leaving for work he mentioned he had bought Millie something too!  It was the sweetest thing.  He bought her this adorable yellow eyelet dress with matching bloomers from Baby Gap.  I am so blessed to have such a terrific husband.  Millie is going to be a DADDYS GIRL no doubt!!  She doesn’t quite realize how lucky she is yet…..she will soon enough though!

Today’s Check-Up

Standard

Today I went to the doctor and had a regular 33 week check up with Doctor Allen.  Everything looked good she said.  My weight, measurements, urine, blood-pressure & Millie’s heartbeat seemed to all be perfect!  I am so blessed that I have not had to struggle with my pregnancy (other than the morning sickness in the beginning). Stephen went with me and asked Doctor Allen to check the position of the baby!  She felt around on my belly and felt a head down below and some feet up which means she is in position!  She was breech earlier on in the pregnancy so we were a little concerned with that.  Thank goodness she figured out which way she needed to be…already a very smart girl.    me3.jpg

pic.jpg  This was my grandmothers old highchair~hc.jpg           We have recently had Millie’s room painted and are so glad that is done.  It was pretty difficult for me to pick out the paint for her room.  I wanted pink and Stephen wanted to leave the room beige.  With the help of Aunt Ginny and Memaw I finally decided on a cream color called “Flour Sack White” by Ralph Lauren.  It turned out beautifully and we both love it.  (It’s washable paint as well which I’m sure will come in handy)We are using a Wendy Bellisimo Vintage Tea Berry Theme.  You can see all of her stuff on the Babies R Us web-site.  Lots of cute little bunnies with accents of pink & green!  It’s really a vintage inspired room which I love anything vintage or older looking!!  I will try and post some pictures once the paint dries and we get the furniture pushed back….

Getting Ready for Millie “now” & Some Highlights of Mommy & Daddy “then”…..

Standard

The past few weeks have been crazy busy for both Stephen & myself.  Our schedules have been filled with appointments to interview pediatricians, OB checkups, our new small group, childbirth classes, breast-feeding classes, breast pumping classes, getting her nursery painted and decorated, and so on…..Oh, and I have totally been in the habit of nesting no doubt, washing clothes, walls, toilets, floors, door knobs, etc..  it’s a little OCD for sure….I just want everything ready if something were to happen!! We are getting very close to finally meeting our little bundle of joy.  I would like for family and friends to always have a way to stay in the loop with our little family!  I will try and up-date as much as possible so that you all can keep up with all of the excitement.  God has blessed us with so much in the past year and we are very thankful.  Hope you will come with us on one of the biggest journeys of our lives (other than marriage!) Feel free to add your comments as
